The delaware License Optimization Tool includes a custom package that needs to be installed on the environment of the customer. Once installed the setup can be done to start capturing all the actions of the users in D365 F&O. With each action the needed license is also being captured and is all documented in a custom workspace that can be used to get more insigh in the needed license. In this workspace the user can see the needed licenses based on the de security rights and next to that based on the usage of the system. Both insights are then displayed in a way to show quickly on which users there is a possibility to optimize security to the lowest license level needed. Besides optimizing, this data is also used as a compliancy check with licensing requirements of Microsoft. This compliancy check is done each year by delaware to make sure the customer stays compliant even with security, user or process changes during the year.
