Building an organization that lasts
delaware believes that the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals provide the organization with a strong strategic framework for its CSR activities. The company is committed to achieving the SDGs through many different initiatives, involving as many people throughout the organization as possible. Three of its most recent noteworthy initiatives are: (1) a renewed mobility policy, which allows employees to select an electric vehicle, (2) funding for WeForest reforestation projects, resulting in over 79,000 planted trees, and (3) a diversity and inclusion task force, which aims to make delaware the best possible place to work, regardless of race, age, gender, beliefs or sexual orientation.
The SDG Pioneer certificate gives delaware an even firmer foundation to continue on its journey towards sustainable development. Its founding partners have always dreamed of building an organization that lasts. As Jan Delaere, Chairman and CSR manager, puts it: “Realizing a dream for today, tomorrow and succeeding generations is not something you do overnight, and we knew it was important to include the environment in our plans. That’s why CSR has become a vital part of our identity and our strategy.” The SDG Pioneer certificate is considered a reward for all of the initiatives delaware has launched over the past 3 years in support of the 17 SDGs, and will inspire the company to keep up the good work.
